What is More Than Conquerors?
MTC (More Than
Conquerors) is the name of our Youth Group. The Youth Group meets every Tuesday night
at Praise Place
Church from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at 1017 N. Flood Ave. in Norman, except for some special events.
MTC Youth Directors
are Thomas Beard and Mara Michener.
Thomas was born and raised in Norman,
Oklahoma. Thomas (also known as “Youth Dude”) is a
long-time Sooner fan and avid crossword puzzle enthusiast.

Thomas is a student at Oklahoma Christian
University in Edmond, majoring in
Bible/Ministry. With a passion for
the Word of God and a knack for improv humor, he hopes to go where the
Spirit leads him, be it a foreign mission field or an IHOP. He is also a very talented musician.

MTC Youth Directors are Thomas and Mara Beard (formerly Mara Mitchener). They were married on Saturday afternoon,
December 15, 2007 in a beautiful ceremony.

MTC meetings are for young people from 6th through 12th
grade. In addition to weekly
meetings during which we discuss and teach Christian ideas and values,
upcoming planned events includes activities such as swimming, skating,
paintball, laser tag, attending Christian music concerts, and other fun
activities.

As Christians, we are
called to be part of the great commission, which is to go out and tell
the world about the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). Our youth have a deep-rooted desire to
share the love of God with the world.

Our young people desire
to touch hearts with the love of God.
We pray that through the power of the Holy Spirit, many young
people will be won for the kingdom
of God. There have already been individuals who
have made a decision to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. We look forward to more as we share the
love of Christ with others.

Preparation for sharing their faith in Jesus
Christ with others
Musical and artistic talents
Development for future church leadership and
current ministry

Vision for Youth
The vision of MTC
at Praise Place is to empower youth to
more fully experience God’s Word in action in their lives. We believe God has a mission for every
person He created, and that age is not a barrier to the realization of this
mission. Our goal is to provide ways
for our youth to focus on God’s Word as their firm foundation. As they experience God’s power and truth
in their lives and lean to trust Him and hear His voice, they will become
the children of God they were created to be.
