Is science a contradiction to creation?
Science is sometimes considered a contradiction to
creation and the concept that a Supreme Being/Designer created the
universe and everything in it. The
Bible is clear with the first verse of the Bible that says “In the
beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. This verse should literally be
translated “In beginning (or in the beginning of time) God created the
universe out of the nothing.” The
proof of the Big Bang theory shows that in a very short time there was an
explosion of a hot ball of gas into more than nine dimensions of space
that appears to exist as the universe into possibly four dimensions. The universe is continually expanding
and can be measured with current technology through observation.

In the Bible account of creation
the Hebrew word for yom may
mean any time period and should not be translated day. The earth has been dated at about 4.5
billion years old. The act of
creation took place over a much longer period of time than six
“literal” 24-hour periods whereas the “first day” should be translated
“first era” or “first time period.”

What
caused the universe to be created?
Based on Newton’s laws
of motion, some force is required to have caused a ball of hot gas to
explode and expand into the universe that moves in multiple
directions. Some have attributed
this expansion of the universe to a coincidence or an unexplained
phenomenon. It is our belief that
the universe was created by a Supreme Being -- a loving Divine
Designer.

John said in the first chapter of his Gospel,
verse 3 that “All things were made by Him; and without Him was not
anything made that was made.”
Jesus Christ is the Creator of the Universe -- the “Word” or logos
in the Koine Greek language of the New Testament. A Greek philosopher first used the
term logos around 600 B.C. in reference to the divine reason
or the plan that coordinates a changing universe. Jesus Christ created the universe out
of nothing, in accordance with both Scripture and proven science since
the Big Bang theory that has been proven scientifically and is
measurable.

Why is
evolution not acceptable as a mechanism for creation?
If the Bible says that Jesus is the Creator that
“all things were made by Him”, then there is not room for evolution. Evolution suggests that higher level
creatures developed from less developed creatures over millions and
millions of years. It also
suggests that more evolved creatures were developed from much less
complex organisms. Laws of physics
and nature indicate that the tendency is towards more complex systems and
creatures becoming less complex over time, and not the other way
around. In the last 30-40 years it
has also been found that even single-celled organisms are much more
complex that ever believed previously and not just a blob of non-complex
protoplasm as once thought.
